Supporting People through Cancer Treatment
Location
Magdalen Arms243 Iffley Road
Oxford
OX4 1SJ
Date and time
18:00 - 19:30After putting up posters and flyers for 'From Me to You' recently, this week we are going to have a go at writing our own letters to people living with cancer. Please come along to hang out and chat even if you don’t feel that writing a letter is right for you.
Through letter writing workshops, and hints & tips on how to reach out to family and friends, 'From Me to You' charity aim to reduce the social isolation and loneliness so often associated with cancer. Writers, from all over the world, send in their letters, which are then distributed to those most in need. 'From me to You' work with partners - hospitals, cancer centres and fellow charities - as well as sending letters directly to people’s homes, which anyone can request whenever a boost is needed.
Read more about the letter writing project here.
We have been sent a lot of tips and guidance on how to approach writing our letters, from how to start them, to suggestions of writing out your favourite poem, or starting with a little sketch. There's no pressure to write the perfect letter, but let's give it a go.
Meeting Location:
Letter writing location is The Oxford Blue pub, where non-runners should meet at 6:15pm.
Runners should meet at 6pm outside The Magdalen Arms on Iffley Road.
