Who this task will support
Cranbrook Community Food Garden
This award-winning garden was designed and built from a desolate children’s playground nearly 10 years ago. The garden is maintained by residents of the estate and surrounding area, and aims to bring the whole community together to create social cohesion to this corner of Bethnal Green.

Come and join Eileen and Janet at the lovely Cranbrook Community Centre this evening.

Background to tonight's task

The Cranbrook Community Centre and Garden is a hive of activity, home to many groups throughout the week, and a thriving, popular garden area for locals to enjoy.

Janet and Eileen tend to the Community Centre area, including the garden, and often need a hand in-and-around the garden.

Always, a lively, active and very fun task, this is a fantastic way to start the week.

What you need to know about tonight's activity

  • We will meet at the Town Hall Hotel (entrance on Patriot Square) around 6:30pm, where you can securely store belongings and use the toilets.

  • At 6:40, we'll run to the task, including a short detour along picturesque Sewardstone Road.

  • We won't be running fast and we will be running at variety of speeds to accommodate all fitness levels. But if you'd like to meet us directly at the task, the address is Cranbrook Community Centre, Mace St, Globe Town, London E2 0RB.

  • We'll start the task at 7pm, working until around 7:45pm, or whenever we finish tonight's jobs, when we'll enjoy a post-task stretch, and an optional run back to the hotel.

  • Tonight's task is likely to include gardening tasks, including clearing the borders around the garden, and possibly some leafleting for the Community Centre's summer activities.

Walkable

You will be able to join a group walking to the task if you'd prefer not to run.

Options are available to run between 0km and 2km in total

Remember that we run/walk to and from the task, so you'll only be running/walking for half this distance in one go.

This is a standard GoodGym group run. If you're worried about any aspect of the session, contact us.

There's space to change and leave bags and toilets. We're not planning to do anything purposefully dangerous, but GoodGym takes no responsibility for your safety during group runs, you participate at your own risk. Participants accept full responsibility for items stored at Town Hall Hotel, and Town Hall Hotel and GoodGym will not be held liable for any losses or damages.

Come to the hotel entrance on Patriot Square, not the bar/restaurant entrance on Cambridge Heath Road. Ask reception where to meet us if you can't see anyone in a red t-shirt.
