Tree-sy like Sunday Morning
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Tower Hamlets.
- Sunday, 29th of October 2017
On a cool and windy Sunday morning, two runners cut, chopped, and bagged parts of a chopped down tree that were blocking access to part of Mrs P's garden.
After a quick intro and the provision of some great tools (a saw, clippers, and gloves without holes - 10/10), Ivo and I got to work cutting back the pile into more manageable chunks. After a good hour or so of cutting back the smaller pieces, we did the more fun thing: sawing time.
Although the wood was damp in places, the saw made light work of some of the chunkier branches, making the remaining chunks easier to bag away.
With about two-thirds of the pile of wood chopped and cut back to size, Ivo had to jump off to meet family so I proceeded to tidy up and put the last bits of wood away into green bags to leave outside.
Mrs P seemed very pleased with our efforts, although the task isn't finished yet! So we leave to the next round of GoodGymers to take on...
