Two GoodGymers ran 3k to help the Story Garden in Camden!

A big welcome to Freya, whose first time it was at GoodGym! We met at the Mischon Offices in Holborn and then through the crowds and with the sun out we ran up to help the wonderful Story Garden near the British Library.

This is a new community garden between the British Library and the Francis Crick Institute. The garden will be opening in July and will be a space for the local community, and will include an orchard, a community allotment and kitchen and is being created by Global Generation, an ecological education charity.

After 2k of running we met the wonderful Martina who explained our the site is developing - planters were being built, 1/2 pollytunnels were up and the area was becoming safe for public use. She explained that our task for the evening was to carry as many large planks of wood over from the pile at the back to the front of the site where all the planters were being built.

GOOD work!

Over 30 minutes we moved 30+planks of wood, neatly piling them up for use over the weekend. Awesome! While working we chatted running, holidays and more - lovely. We made a huge impact to our community in such a quick time, feel proud.

After a few photos we headed back to the office and did a lovely stretch.

Hope to see you at a GG Camden run soon Freya!

Cheers PB
