SIX SENSATIONAL @GGBARNSLEY runners were out on one of the hotest days of the year helping GORGEOUS GORDON with the upkeep of the Carers Garden in Barnsley which is a fantastic space that is in need of some love and green fingers to make it florish and provide some well earned rest bite for the carers of Barsnley.
After a hot, humid and hilly run up to the garden with GRACIOUS GRACE leading the charge we met Gordon who offered us cold water and provided a brief of the evenings task which this week involved weeding out the two raised beds and taking the soil from one to the other in prep for a new sensory garden that will go in the place of one of the beds.
Weeds were pulled and potatoes found, sweat was sweat and wheelbarrows filled, and knocked over and filled again....
By the end of the session both beds were weed free and a great start made on removing the soil from the bed that will be converted.
Great work everyone!
Once the ladies had in Gordon's words 'stopped gassing' we bid him farewell with a good ol Barnsley 'si the' and headed back to base for a quick stretch before heading home.
