Three Goodgymers ran 4km to help Coram Fields tidy up the Nature Area!

Welcome along to Eleanor and Karine whose first time it was. This was the first GGxMischon Group Run, there'll be monthly on the second Thursday.

GoodGym is a charity that is nearly 10 years old; over a thousand people do GG every week and there now 50 GG areas across the country. There are three ways of doing good:

  1. Coach Runs - this is where you get paired up with an older isolated person and go see them once a month.
  2. Missions - this is where 2-3 people go to older persons home to help them do something they can't do - gardening, setting up a hospital bed and more.
  3. Group Runs - this is where as a group we run to help local charities and projects with a physical task.

After warming up we headed north to Russell Square, did a lap of the park and then headed to Coram Fields. We were tasked with clearing and tidying up the wildlife area.

Coram Fields is a brilliant charity, it's 5 acres of playground and activity areas in central London. Hundreds of kids use it every day to play and have fun. Our help keeps the organisation going.

Once over in the wildlife area, we collected piles of moss, leaves and twigs - putting piles afte piles into bin bags. We talked GoodGym, marathons and Game of thrones while doing tons of work for our community.

Hayfever inducing!

Over 40 minutes we made a big difference - well done! Next we headed back to Russell Square for a fitness session - doing a progression lap around it.

Next month we are meeting on Thursday 27th June. I'll be touch with details soon.

PB out
