A group of seven GoodGym runners met at Cathall Leisure Centre in Waltham Forest for the first time last night.  Frank, who led the run, directed a quick warm up of static and dynamic stretches and then the group set off west to cross the A12.  The team turned north and headed straight for the destination on Chelmsford Road.We arrived at George Mason Lodge and met the manager Karen, who showed us the various work that needed doing.  We split into smaller teams to work on each task.  Some started the mammoth task of clearing the overgrown patch at the back of the home, and some worked around the front clearing a flower bed of weeds and sweeping fallen sticks from the car park. Some of the residents came outside to see what we were up to and to have a chat. After 45 minutes of fast working, we tidied the tools back together and threw the bags of waste into the skip.  Karen thanked the team for their work and we set off for a longer run back to our start point.  The route took us across a footbridge over the A12 and along Lemna Road where did some sprinting.  Then Frank showed us a way through Bush Wood and out to the edge of Wansted Flats, before looping back into Cathall Road.  Overall the run was about 5.4k with 45 mins of hard work.
