Four fabulous runners met in the Wells Fargo Lobby on a remarkably wet, dark and gusty Thursday evening. The prospect of helping a local youth project providing the impetus and desire to get out and get fit, whatever the weather.
We ran 2.5k into a wet headwind dodging the umbrellas and skipping over pudddles, not allowing our spirits to dampened.
Arriving at the Columbia Youth Project, we introduced ourselves, listened to the fantastic work they do in the locality, providing youth activities, skills and a safe warm space to connect and grow.
We suited up and began helping them paint the walls a fresh white, covering the hard to get to places, diligently swiping up and down in a therapeutic post work soothe.
It was lovely seeing Laura, who came down to assist and take some photos of us. 30mins later and many strokes of paint, we left the youth centre in a much better/whiter position.
Thanks team! Was lovely to meet you and strut our stuff back to base together.
Till next time, or till you find your local GoodGym ;)
