Brighton Community Workshop
Tool Library | Maker Space | Repair Shop | Skill Sharing The Brighton Community Workshop Project (BCWP) is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company (CIC) established in 2019. The roots of which date back to 2017. We had our sights on renovating the old scout hut in Bevendean, alongside The Community Garden, sadly the hut was vandalised and later demolished. Our aim back then was as simple as it is today - Provide a city-based community workshop, run by volunteers and stocked with tools & work-benches, that we can all share. Like having your own garden shed, but without having your own outdoor space. Everyone is welcome to join our community. The BCW is an umbrella organisation with four cornerstone services; 1. THE TOOL LIBRARY - Stocked with tools we can borrow 2. THE MAKER SPACE - A creative space to make, build & get crafting 3. THE REPAIR HUB - Do the right thing, Fix it, don’t replace it, repair it. 4. THE SKILLS FORGE - Learn new skills & share knowledge.

This week it is the third in the run for the GoodGym January Challenge! From the 1st to the 31st of January, across the country, we are going to walk, run and cycle to complete as many good deeds as we can.

This week we are returning to one of our favorite venue and task at the Brighton Community Workshop, in Kemptown to help sorting out and cleaning tools.

We will be running from our meeting point in Brighton, Queen Victoria Statue. Meet at the start at 18:15 to leave together no later than 18:30

Gary will welcome the GoodGym, providing some gloves if you don't have yours.

Late comers meet us at the task at 18:45 @Brighton Community Workshop Project, 116 St George Road, Kemptown, BN2 1EA

GoodGym Brighton is gamed for the January Challenge!

Welcome Challenger!

And, don't forget to log on all your good deeds on your GoodGym profile and your run-kms on your Strava profile/club GoodGym to participate in the January Challenge.

Have you got Strava connected?

I often get asked about how to connect your Strava account to your GoodGym profile. Well, here is a nice handy guide to show you exactly what to do. Make sure you get yours set up before the January Challenge.

Are you on a mission to do a 5K parkrun or even a marathon during 2024?

Mine is just to keep up with running together with my GoodGym mates :-). Here are some tips on how to move from the Couch to 5Kto gradually work up towards running 5km in just 9 weeks

Happy GoodGym-ing!

New to GoodGym?

This is a GoodGym group run, where we run to help a local community organisation and then run back.

New GoodGymers are welcome to GoodGym group runs - no one gets left behind. You're unlikely to be alone, hundreds of new people sign up every week.
