The Shakespearean GardenWe have been asked by a group in Platt Fields Park to help with shifting soil to help with digging over and amending the very clay/heavy soil with compostScheone of the sections. The area is about 15ft by 8ft so not huge and I think 2 (perhaps 3) people would make fairly short work of it (a couple of hours).
Bring gloves if youre coming. Tools will be provided.
Meeting point is inside the Shakespearean Gardens in Platt Fields Park, What3Words: ///settle.lifted.always
About The Shakespearean Garden or via Platt Fields Park
The concept of a Shakespearean Garden was first developed in Victorian England with the idea of creating a garden with some, or all, of the trees and flowers mentioned in the Bard’s works. With strong links to the suffrage movement and Edwardian society our garden opened in 1922 and was rescued from near obscurity by volunteers 4 yrs ago.
