Who this task will support
Care4Calais East London
A volunteer-run refugee charity working with refugees in the UK.

Back to help Care4Calais to sort their donations at their East London storage facility. They have donated items, mostly clothing but also some household items, such as blankets and sleeping bags. They distribute these items to people seeking asylum across East London, many of whom came to the UK with only the clothes they are wearing whilst fleeing war and persecution, from countries including Sudan, Syria and Eritrea. Sorting the storage is an essential task to enable them to do that and we're only too happy to be able to help!

Where to meet:

We'll meet at 18:45 in the courtyard at the Print House - usually at or near the tables that run alongside the river. Look out for anyone in a red GoodGym top and come and say hello! We love to meet new people and welcome all running abilities - there is a backmarker on every task to make sure no one gets left behind. The run to this task is about 2 miles each way. Note that there are toilets that we can use at the Print House, but limited bad drop facilities at the moment.

You are also welcome to meet us at the task - we should be there by 19:15 and the address is:

Plashet Road Nursery, Upton Centre E13 0QB - meet by the gate at the intersection of Claude Road and Daisy Parsons Court.

The Task

We'll sorting through clothes, ensuring items are high quality and stored in the right place. We should be there until about 20:00, then we'll make our way back to the Print House. The storage unit has no heating or lighting, so please bring layers to wear if you need them and a headtorch if you have one - also useful for the run there and back!

Can't wait to see everyone there - do give us a shout on the WhatsApp group, or comment below if you have any questions.
