Shared Story
Our mission at Shared Story is to make reading and sharing stories an accessible and inclusive experience. Humans have gathered to tell stories around the fire since time began. It is one of humanity’s oldest traditions and how we have understood who we are. ‘Not a Book Club’, our shared reading group brings people together to share in the joy of reading. It reduces social isolation and improves mental wellbeing. 75% of people who have been part of ‘Not a Book Club’ have a long term condition.

The organisation have been funded to run a 6 week course in January/February. The funding has come from the Guildhall ward and is for people living in this area. They need to distribute leaflets to publicise the sessions

The Guildhall ward is quite big, areas that runners could focus on are:

The Groves. The residential areas around York District Hospital - Hambleton terrace / Rose street / Belgrave street. Any residential areas around York St John University.
The residential areas around the Red tower on Foss Islands rd.
