RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch
Big Garden Birdwatch is the world’s largest garden wildlife survey. Every year, hundreds of thousands of nature lovers like you take part, helping to build a picture of how garden birds are faring.

Join the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch 2026 and help the RSPB to build a picture of how garden birds are faring. Simply choose an hour between 23 and 25 January to complete your count. Be sure to sign up here as well as to this GoodGym session: https://www.rspb.org.uk/whats-happening/big-garden-birdwatch

This task can be completed with a cup of tea from the comfort of your own home but why not get together with friends, family or a GoodGym team member to do the Big Garden Birdwatch and count the birds you see together. However, you should only submit one set of results if you are counting in a location as a group.

Instructions:

1) Count the birds you see in your garden, from your balcony or in your local park for one hour between 23th and 25th January 2026.

2) Only include birds that land, not those flying over. Use this link to find a useful guide of the different birds you might see: https://www.rspb.org.uk/whats-happening/big-garden-birdwatch

3) Submit your results online. Whatever you saw - even if nothing at all - please report. The more results submitted, the better the picture will be of how garden birds are faring.

Share any bird photos/stories for inclusion in the report.
