We bring together design, research and strategic thinking to make meaningful progress towards a post-carbon built environment. We provide design services, undertake hands-on construction and refurbishment projects, and work with public, private and third sector organisations interested in developing and delivering a regenerative, low-carbon built environment.

Join Sarah as we lend a hand at this new community farm before it's handed over to the community.

About the project Since June 2023 we have been working with the growers of Pasteur Gardens (London grown on google maps) to develop the agricultural infrastructure on site. The growers on site belong to two organisations: Black Rootz and Wolves Lane. I believe good gym has worked with the Wolves Lane Consortium previously. The project is supported by re:arc institute Practice Lab as part of their practice-based funding. Re:arc is a not-for-profit organisation based in Copenhagen, supporting self-initiated and community led projects that reorientate construction towards non-extractive practices.

We conducted 5 community focussed building workshops over August 2024 in order to construct an agricultural shed for seed/ equipment storage and harvesting. The shed is entirely made of bio-based materials. We are now in need of some assistance to clear the site so that we can handover the building to the growers on December 7th 2024.

Clear up I imagine this would be 1 day/ 2 days of around 6-10 volunteers helping collect all the waste from around the farm site to create a big heap at the entrance. The types of waste they would be collecting: as mentioned we only work with bio-based materials, so this would include strawbales, timber offcuts, waste packaging sheets and some roofing sheets.
