What are practical conservation sessions all about? You don’t need any experience or knowledge of the parks, just enthusiasm and a willingness to get involved!
Our sessions are led by Rangers who will supply you with protective equipment and tools you need for the task and explain how to use them. Each session will deliver on a specific priority area within the park, and we will explain how the task contributes to our management of these areas.
The sessions run from 10.00-15.00. However, you are free to leave the session early, just let our Rangers know before you leave.
If you have not attended a session with us previously, feel free to contact us. We’ll be happy to answer any questions you may have about the session or the task!
Meeting Point You will be met by one of the Ranger Team by the Tea Room picnic benches, situated off the main visitor car park in Langley Park. For reference, please see map below where the meeting point is depicted with a yellow star.
What 3 Words location - groom.cheese.branch What is What 3 Words? what3words is an app that makes it easy to find, share and save precise locations. It has divided the globe into 3m squares and given each one a unique 3 word address.
Cancellation Policy We understand that sometimes you will be unable to attend a session you have booked. Please let us know as soon as you can to allow others on the waiting list to get involved in the task. If we have to cancel a session due to adverse weather conditions or other unexpected events, you will be notified by email.
FAQs Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event? You currently need to be aged 18 years or over to attend this session. There is no upper age limit for our practical conservation sessions.
What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the session? We currently do not have any public transport links directly to our Country Parks. All of our sessions have a Pay and Display Public Car Park
Do I need to pay for parking? No. Please park your car and head to the meeting point. If you have told us you need a temporary parking permit for the session, please let the Ranger know your registration number and they will provide you with a permit for the duration of the task.
What do I need to bring into the event? Please bring drinks and any snacks required for the duration of the event. Please wear suitable clothing and sturdy footwear - the woodlands can be very muddy and uneven. We recommend long sleeved tops and trousers and layers of clothing as you are likely to get warm during the task. In hot weather conditions, please remember to bring water, a hat and sunscreen!
How can I contact the organiser with any questions? Country Parks Team - countryparks@buckinghamshire.gov.uk / 01753 511060
