On Saturday 30th of November, Knaphill Federation of Schools are hosting a volunteer activity day, where they are inviting members of the local community to come along and help them plant their new orchard. The orchard will be located at the far end of the #Knaphill Lower School Field and will include a mixture of fruit trees that the children will tend to in order to grow their own fruit and trees to support local wildlife. The orchard will be surrounded by hedgerows to corner off the growing area.

The volunteer day will involve a lot of physical work so we are currently looking for adult volunteers that are willing and able to dig holes and get dirty. Planting will begin at 9.30am and run until 2pm. If people can spare a couple of hours over this period, they would appreciate it as they have over 350 plants to put into the ground! Volunteers will need to bring their own gloves and a spade. They will be providing refreshments and biscuits for those that come along to help.

On the day if you come through the main blue gates off Chobham road and follow the driveway round to the right you will find us on the field (It will be sign posted) There is very limited parking on site. Parking can be found on Chobham Road or in Sussex Road Recreational Ground

We advise volunteers to bring spades and gloves.
