09:48 - 12:18November Trail Run: Southease to Kemptown A scenic point-to-point trail run across the Downs, taking in literary history, sea air and autumn views — finishing with lunch in Kemptown.
Route: We’ll meet at Brighton Station and take the 09:48 train to Southease, arriving 10:12 to start the run. From Southease Station, we’ll join the South Downs trails and make our way towards Rottingdean, passing via The Grange Museum — the former home of Rudyard Kipling. The museum has free entry, so we’ll have time to pop in during our stop.
We expect to reach Rottingdean around 11:30. We’ll take around 30 minutes here to explore / snack / museum visit before continuing the final section.
We’ll then head along the undercliff or clifftop path into Brighton, finishing at The George in Kemptown, which has good veggie food for those who’d like to stay for lunch.
Distance: ~13km / 8 miles Terrain: Downland trails, chalk paths & coastal paths — expect mud if it’s been wet Pace: Social group run with re-grouping throughout — nobody left behind
Run Leader: This run will be led by our very own Mr. Doug — legendary encourager, dispenser of morale boosts. Should any (very unlikely) injuries occur, Doug is fully prepared to offer expert pep talks, motivational wisdom, and possibly a prescription of “You’ve totally got this.”
What to Bring: • Trail shoes recommended • Headtorch (light can be low on the Downs) • Windproof layer for exposed sections • Water and snacks for mid-run
Travel: • Outbound: Brighton → Southease train — departs 09:48, arrives 10:12 • Return: Short walk from The George to central Brighton for trains & buses
A friendly, scenic run with history, coastal paths, top company and a very supportive GP. Perfect November miles.
