In February 2011, local children planted 21 fruit trees to form a Community Orchard in the overgrown tennis courts in the Lammas Enclosure, between Lammas and Walpole Parks. Volunteers from Ealing Transition have taken on the management of the area and preservation of natural habitats.

The residents call on our own GoodGym volunteers from time to time when they have specific tasks that need extra pairs of hands.

โ“ What are we doing?

New fruit trees and hedges have been planted by the Ealing Transition team and their supporters at the beginning of March. They'd like our help to:

  • ๐Ÿ›’ Mulch around the hedges to keep them healthy
  • โ›๏ธ Loosen compacted soil in their raised beds

๐Ÿ•‘ When and where? ๐Ÿ“

18:45 ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ Run:

  • ๐Ÿ“ Meet at Bodyline Studios (5-6 Spring Bridge Mews, London W5 2AB)
  • Run around Walpole and Lammas parks, then to the Community Orchard

18:45 ๐Ÿšถ Walk:

  • ๐Ÿ“ Meet at Bodyline Studios (5-6 Spring Bridge Mews, London W5 2AB)
  • Walk to Rickyard in Walpole Park to collect tools, then to the Community Orchard

18:55 ๐Ÿง™ Meet at Rickyard:

๐Ÿงค What to bring?

  • ๐Ÿงค Gardening gloves, if you have them

Walkable

You will be able to join a group walking to the task if you'd prefer not to run.

Options are available to run between 2km and 4km in total

Remember that we run/walk to and from the task, so you'll only be running/walking for half this distance in one go.

This is a standard GoodGym group run. If you're worried about any aspect of the session, contact us.
