Who this task will support
Holgate Allotment Community Orchard and Apiary
Holgate Allotment Association are a volunteer group of allotment holders who try to make Holgate Allotments a great place to socialise and grow veg. We have an allotment plot on the boundary of our site which is unused and completely overgrown but which we think will make a lovely orchard and wildlife area with seating for the local community to enjoy. Clearing the site will be a massive task, but it's one we want to embark on this Autumn. Can you help?

Welcome to GoodGym York ๐Ÿ™Œ

๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐ŸƒWe're a friendly and social group who combine exercise with helping out in the local community. Every Monday evening we meet to get active and do a physical task to help the charities or community organisations in our city. You can see what else we've got on during the rest of the week here.

TONIGHT ๐ŸŽ„๐ŸŽ

Weโ€™ll be heading back to Holgate Allotments to replenish the woodchip paths, orchard garden and pollinator / starter bed plot

THE TASK โš ๏ธ Donโ€™t forget your head torches for the run.

WHERE WE MEET ๐ŸŽ’ We meet at the Priory Street Centre and our usual room is the Foxwood Room. As you approach the front of the Centre, turn right and go to the car park area. The room we use is locked whilst we're out so you can leave your bits and bobs in there.

๐ŸšฒThere is cycle parking as you approach the Centre and a 10 bay pay and display car park and covered cycle parking to the left. In addition, on street parking is available on Priory Street.

RUNNING AND WALKING WITH US ๐Ÿ‘GoodGym is for everyone. We welcome runners of all abilities. We can offer a walking group tonight.

๐Ÿ‘We always have a back-marker too so nobody will get left behind - no matter what your pace is.

๐Ÿ”ฆ We'll be running in the dark, so bring a head torch if you have one. We do carry a couple of spares so don't worry if you forget. please also bring some gardening gloves.

POST-RUN SOCIAL ๐ŸปWe normally head to The Ackhorne Pub on St Martin's Lane after our run for a spot of liquid refreshment and a good chat.

New to GoodGym?

This is a GoodGym group run, where we run to help a local community organisation and then run back.

New GoodGymers are welcome to GoodGym group runs - no one gets left behind. You're unlikely to be alone, hundreds of new people sign up every week.

Walkable

You will be able to join a group walking to the task if you'd prefer not to run.

Options are available to run between 3km and 3km in total

Remember that we run/walk to and from the task, so you'll only be running/walking for half this distance in one go.

This is a standard GoodGym group run. If you're worried about any aspect of the session, contact us.
