GoodGym Barnet, let’s make a difference for our local waterways! We’re taking part in the Great UK WaterBlitz—a national initiative run by Earthwatch to measure water quality in rivers, streams, and ponds across the country.
How It Works: 1. Sign up for the WaterBlitz directly with Earthwatch here (Sign-ups open 4 March). 2. You’ll receive a free FreshWater Watch testing kit to measure nitrate and phosphate levels in your chosen water body. 3. The testing is quick and easy—just 20 minutes to collect data that helps build a national picture of freshwater health. 4. Submit your results online and help provide the evidence needed for real environmental change!
Join the GoodGym Barnet Mission!
We’re coordinating a GoodGym community mission so we can carry out our tests together, share experiences, and report back on our findings. Sign up for the GoodGym Barnet mission here!
🔹 When? Anytime between 25–28 April 🔹 Where? Choose a local river, stream, or pond near you—or join us at a planned location in Barnet! 🔹 Why? Because clean water matters, and every data point helps build a case for action. 🔹 Bonus: It’s a great way to combine running/walking with purposeful volunteering!
How to Get Involved:
✅ Step 1: Sign up for the WaterBlitz with Earthwatch (click here) ✅ Step 2: Register for our GoodGym Barnet mission (insert link) so we can coordinate efforts and report back on what we find. ✅ Step 3: Receive your free test kit, head out to your local waterway, and collect your data!
📢 Help Spread the Word! Encourage friends and fellow GoodGym members to take part by sharing the #GreatUKWaterBlitz hashtag and inviting others to sign up. The more data collected, the stronger the case for protecting our freshwater!
Let’s make this a big one, GoodGym Barnet! Sign up, get testing, and let’s make an impact. 💧🌍
