Tonight we had a mountain (well, Portsdown Hill) to climb to get to our task. 5 of us ran up from the Lido, Abby cycled and everyone else met us there.
We had a number of different jobs:
- fill the planter with compost and replant the strawberries 🍓
- dig out the weeds / brambles / roots by the shed and cover the area with weed blocking material
- dig in some climbing plants and weed the flower beds
- move the large sack of soil around to the back of the hall (a few wheelbarrow trips)
- inflate enough balloons for an archway and extra decoration around the hall
The hose was used to water in the plants and cool down runners. Muscles were flexed in digging out the bigger routes. We played a game of "stone or bone?" by the shed as we dug over the ground.
Plenty of chat and laughter was had while we worked, lots of it unreportable! If you know, you know....
