7 GG Yorkies ran to Scarcroft Allotments to help Scarcroft Green Nursery. The local nursery use the allotment to help children learn about and appreciate nature and wanted some help turning over the soil to create new raised beds. We all arrived to the task (although Grumpy Ed was as fashionably late as ever!) and got stuck in. Ed and Debs stayed in their small patch whilst the rest of us stuck to our large area to create a large bed.

Through all the digging, we found the ground was full of old broken tools as well as teeming with wildlife!

" I need my worm guide"

Luckily for us, our wildlife expert Debs was with us and explained there is indeed more than one type of worm...who knew!

After an hour of digging through the tough roots and ground, we got the soil turned over and made beds suitable for a new wild garden.

Many thanks to Stef for the pun!
