The results from the Easter Egg hunt run were announced tonight and Rachel was the lucky name out of the hat for the Easter Egg. Maura, Mel and Judy got the spot prize for best photo(s) - they went over and above and even had Easter props in the pictures (a montage of my favourites is included above). Well done to all who took part.
Tonight's run was our first of the month long run to the Lido. If this was a Friends episode it would be titled:
The one with the Hoes and Scrubbers
Firstly, a BIG welcome to Tracy, who joined us for her first good deed! She has been promising to come along to GoodGym and now she's finally made it!
We had many different roles to fill tonight:
- Painters - Maura, India & Rachel - giving the 2 remaining plain benches their first coat of orange paint
- Scrubbers - Judy, Jo, Tracy & Sarah - doing a deep clean of the Ladies changing rooms,
- Hoes - Rosie & Tim - weeding the poolside. Rosie dropped a weed in the pool which inspired tonight's run report title.
- Scrapers - Angela, Mel & Louisa - scraping off the graffiti wall to prep it for a new paint job and some more graffiti.
Time flew by and before we knew it, the clock had ticked on past the time we should have left. A swift run back to the community centre meant we were just in time to empty our room before the MMA guys needed it!
Thanks all for a great night as usual.
Coming up this weekend..... There are loads of community missions going on every day over this coming bank holiday weekend so have a look here and come along to earn some more good deeds. Also, lots of luck to Sarah who is running the Southampton Marathon on Sunday - enjoy! We look forward to hearing about that next week.
Next week is the big one, our first birthday celebrations. It's a short run so suitable for all. We'll be having curry afterwards (bring your cash!) and there will be birthday related fitness challenges! Don't forget we also have a birthday party at Somerstown Hub on Friday, details here.
