When the river runs dry!
1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Camden.
- Wednesday, 11th of August 2021
It has been a couple of weeks since I have seen Mrs M due to her isolation period and subsequent knee surgery, but today I was back to do 2 good deeds for her. After a little emailing back and forth with GoodGym HQ, it was decided that I would collect her prescription and do the food shopping at the same time in the late afternoon.
First stop was Mrs M's flat to collect her shopping list, cash and shopping trolley. As we hadn't seen oneanother for a couple of weeks, we of course spent a good deal of time chatting - the usual topics of the annoying neighbours and her knee were on the cards. But this time, Mrs M also mentioned that she hadn't got any running water at the moment! She had put two bottles of water on her shopping list, but I assured her that I would bring as many as the £20 limit would allow me to whilst still also picking up her groceries.
As usual the list was filled with fruit and veg, so I spent a great deal of time in one corner of Tesco. Surprisingly, they had everything on Mrs M's list today - a rarity indeed! I managed to pick up a 6-pack of bottled water, which I knew Mrs M would be pleased with. Although the same could not be said for her trusty shopping trolley, which groaned a little as I packed it up and wheeled it down to Boots to grab Mrs M's prescription.
