When shopportunity knocks
1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Camden.
- Wednesday, 13th of May 2020
Pleasant downhill jog to swing by Mr P’s place to collect the neatly-written shopping list. I’ve learned from past shopping trips and took time to clarify the ambiguous items with him (which flavour and kind of crisps? Nescafé in sachets or a jar??)
And then a curve up to the big Sainsburys in Camden – luckily no queue! The big Coke Zero bottles made it a heavy load but it was a short trip.
Mr P was very pleased with his delivery and kept trying to get me to keep the change – I refused and told him that as a volunteer it’s just enough to know we’ve made a difference! He said the world would be a better place if there were more people who do what we do, which was very kind. I hope the groceries will make him a tasty dinner tonight!
