What a plum deal!
1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Southwark.
- Saturday, 4th of April 2020
I gave Mrs B a quick call in the morning to get her shopping list but as it was she said she had it handy and would be best for me to pick it up from her house so that she could give a bit more context and direct me to the relevant stores.
I turned up a little later than planned to ensure she could enjoy a Saturday morning lie-in, and sure enough the list was ready and waiting and she showed me some (nearly empty examples) of the sample products she was keen for me to acquire.
I headed off then to Iceland in Peckham for the first of the goods and came away very pleased with myself (and a full quota of Icelandic goods), heading on to Morrisons for the next batch which was a slightly less fruitful trip but still got most of what I needed.
Last scheduled stop was the formidable sounding Mighty Pound in Peckham, which turned out to be somewhat underwhelming in reality as it was all shuttered up, and therefore I couldn't get my hands on the anti-bacterial disinfectant that Mrs was rather keen on. I diverted to Boots to pick up a suitable replacement which seemed to please her sufficiently when I showed up back at hers with all her shopping.
Much respect to Mrs B for identifying a number of deals, keenly detailed in her shopping list in order to get the most value for her money! Even without being able to get out herself she was able to use her local knowledge to make my life even easier.
