5 Goodgymers helped to spruce up the streets of Sydenham in Leamington Spa with a litter pick this evening.
After a quick warm up at the Pump Rooms and a big welcome to our new Area Activator, Alexandra - we headed out along the canal to Sydenham Drive.
From here we met Philip who joined us at the task and picked along Sydenham Drive with the intention of getting all the way to ASDA. Little did we know that there would be so much rubbish!
Not only did we run out of time to make it all the way to ASDA, but all 5 of our rubbish bags were full to bursting! The number one item on this evening's pick list was cans - they were everywhere. Thankfully most were empty but a few had been shredded by the lawn mowers that have recently cut back the verges making them a bit tricky to pick up with litter pickers.
After leaving our bags of rubbish ready for collection tomorrow, we said goodbye to Philip and headed back into town along the canal. We finished with one last jog around the Pump Room gardens for good measure. Definitely a job well done this evening and lovely to have a catch up with those who haven't been to goodgym for a while - everyone is always welcome, no matter how long a break you have had since your last session :-)
