We wrote a story about a bed. We made it ourselves.
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Lambeth.

On a muggy July afternoon Helen and Katherine set out on a mission to help move a bed in advance of Mrs F’s return home from hospital following an accident at home.
We were met by Mrs F’s daughter who kindly showed us to her flat and to where the bed needed to be moved downstairs.
We did three trips in the lift (the first we had to wrestle with the mattress to get it in)!
Mrs F’s daughter was delighted with the help we’d given and we assured her that it was no bother and we volunteered to do this. We told her more about Goodgym and she said how wonderful it was and how she didn’t know how she would have moved the bed otherwise.
Once we moved the bed she took us into the living room to show us pictures of her mum. It was fabulous to see all her lovely pictures hanging up in the house.
After a bit more of a chat we left, but not before we had even more thanks from the daughter. It was clear that this simple task had made such a difference to her (her mum was 96 so she must have been a good age too) and her mum. It’s amazing to see the value of such a small job for us to have completed and we left feeling very warm and fuzzy.
Mission accomplished.
Katherine and Helen
