2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Southwark.
- Sunday, 15th of December 2019
Frances and Monica were lucky to be joined by Mrs J for this task, which was to cut back the front hedge that had been getting a bit out of control. She had managed to do one branch herself but the sawing had taken her ages so she appreciated having some reinforcements. Frances enthusiastically grabbed the saw and set to work whilst Monica and Mrs J trimmed the bushes down to size and then turned their attention to clipping the sawn-off branches so the foliage could be bagged. We chatted as we worked, including a comparison of the benefits of Peckham Rye Park and Dulwich Park since the runners had each traversed one of them on their route to the mission (Mrs J diplomatically said they both had strong points). The task was quickly completed, and after dragging the debris to the back garden the runners set off home to start warming up their vocal chords for the Lewisham and Wandsworth carol performances the next evening - now where's my honey and lemon!?
