The sun came out for our first group run in ages and it felt great to be back!
After a hot and sweaty 5km run through beautiful Battersea Park we arrived to find Nigel, who runs Christchurch community garden's committee waiting for us with tools and a huge pile of wood to be tackled.
We set to it, taking turns with the saw. While I managed one pathetic log, the others were much more successful and we soon had a big pile ready for local residents to use. We took our mind off the hard work in the sweltering heat with chat about the phenomenal amount of sport we've enjoyed recently, the return of parkrun, and the imminent Olympics. An hour soon flew by and just like that our first group session in 18 months drew to a close.
Great to see you all! Our next run will be on Monday evening, sign up here for more GG fun!
