Coming from Yorkshire, GG Sheffield are a tough bunch. So the imminent approach of Storm Dennis wasn't going to stop our 2nd SPLOG - a plog with a swim at the end.
Over at The Ponderosa Park we cleared a large haul of rubbish as gray skies, gusty wind and a steady rain tried to dampen our spirits. But our enthusiasm for the task and some interesting conversation, ranging from steak to hairdryers (more interesting than that sounds), kept us working hard.
Crookes Valley Pond, just down the road, was the venue for our swim - a chilly 6C - followed by tea, soup and cake in a nearby cafe. A great task, swim, food and company - the perfect start to the day,
Kat has already planned our next winter SPLOG, which will be in March at Derwent Reservoir - keep an eye on the website for details in due course ...
