We're going to need a bigger bag...
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Tower Hamlets.
- Sunday, 15th of January 2023
Mrs E was well prepared when Hilary and I knocked on her door today - a range of tools of varying capabilities were offered to us to help in our raking up of leaves in her back garden and front porch area, and most importantly, a big green bag into which the product of our labours could be deposited.
In spite of it being a compact garden, we soon found we'd filled most of the bag with the leaves that had seemingly fallen from a large overhanging tree, and so prompting the above comment (with apologies to the police chief from Jaws...).
After a quick rake, sweep and tidy up of the front porch area we'd completed the Big Sunday Sweep and, after declining Mrs E's kind offer of tea or coffee, and carefully parking the now full big green bag in a protected (and hopefully wind unaffected) area of her porch, we said our farewells.
