7 ran to Chess to spread a little Christmas cheer and chocolate!
Our last official Goodgym run of the year and 6 Goodgym runners joined Ken on a run to the homeless shelter. A cold session but thankfully the ice had melted and conditions underfoot were ok. We had decided to let CHESS - Churches Homeless Emergency Support Scheme, and their residents know we are thinking about them at this time of year by heading over to give them some chocolate.
First stop was Tesco's to find some suitably festive treats and we deliberated over reindeer or Santa's, selection boxes or snowmen? Eventually we settles on a random selection of all of the above! Kate had a suitably empty rucksack so we filled it up and headed off back into the cold evening air. A nice run past more of the Christmas lights we managed to find the shelter and drop off the chocolate, finding out more about the challenges faced at this time of year by CHESS and their residents. To find out more check it out here
We ran a scenic route back to base and had a little stretch whilst discussing plans for the Christmas party! Next Wednesday as there is no run session!
See you all in 2018!
