It’s the most swan-derful time of the year
4 GoodGymers made their way to help the Canal and River Trust in Coventry.

4 GoodGym runners ran 3km to pick litter on the Coventry canal from bridge one to bridge three.
We met Liz at the canal basin to collect bags and pickers, and started off along the canal. There was a lot catching up to do, and plenty of cans and bottles to keep us busy and fill four bags full of rubbish.
We had been warned about the swan and cygnets near the path, so our next task was to quickly and calmly pass the feathered family without making mummy swan too angry. She was obviously in a good mood as she only stretched her neck to try and nip us before giving up.
The last time we litterpicked on the canal was in the depths of winter, so it was nice to see lots of local people enjoying evening walks on the canal and thanking us for our efforts.
We finished our evening with some hill reps, accompanied by some music from a nearby window, and it was just like old times!
