We Could only go SO FAr with the Sofa
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Kingston upon Thames.
- Thursday, 22nd of October 2020
Today's mission was to shift a couple of large items of furniture around the house for Mrs J, who has just come home from hospital. A bed was to be disassembled downstairs and taken up, and a sofa was to be taken downstairs to replace the bed.
SO FAr so good with the bed... it was quickly taken apart and mattress & frame lugged upstairs. This unfortunately was not going to be the case with the sofa. After taking off the cushions and shifting the beastly thing to the top of the stairs we quickly realised that it wasn't going to fit down stairs with the handrails and safety rails attached to the walls. With time against us we had to cut our losses and take the sofa back to the spare room with the hope that it could be moved on another occasion.
Not the most successful mission but at least it was partially completed. Also Mrs J very much appreciated the effort and, I think, enjoyed our company too :)

Great work Dave and Jane - even if it wasn't quite completed!
