5 runners ran to Abbey Gardens and dug out space for a wildflower border

Chilly winds but glorious skies in East London yesterday. A brief chat in the Aquatics centre about Jane's preferred training regime for her upcoming 10k. Tim's unusual approach, promises to only work for those with superb and uncanny talent for distance running - it's a no training approach. Just human vs human, no extra help through structured training - it's an intriguing prospect. Something that I could envisage on a future Japanese TV show. My advice was quite boring in comparison (progressive training). Apologies folks.

We hopped, skipped and jumped 1.5k down the road to Abbey Gardens. Where we got stuck into a task that we didn't have time to start last week. Digging out a border for resident gardener Aiste and co. to plant wild flowers, it's all done on the other-side and looks delightful I reckon. Quite a tough task too - great shoulder and arm workout. We still have about two thirds more to do...so be great to get the whole team out next time...many faces I haven't seen for weeks/months, your extra man power would be much obliged!

After a little messing about taking photos on Abbey Road (not the Beatles one, hence title, but the East London version - OF COURSE) , we made the short journey back to base for a little running session. 5 x 10seconds. With 1minute recovery. Very short session, but with that dropped volume comes a request for a increased intensity. Has a great crossover to endurance running as we recruit more muscle fibres, which will then be useable for our longer distance efforts.

Until next week!

PS. PIZZA AND BEER ON 04/05 (POST TASK) - see you there
