We Came, We Sawed, We Conquered
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Lewisham.
- Saturday, 5th of January 2019
Mrs G needed some help in her garden, cutting back some plants and bushes that had grown out of control and we’re restricting the light.
Armed with a pair of secateurs and a saw, Sarah and I soon got to work whilst having a lovely catch up on all things festive.
Things escalated slightly as we tried to wrestle a sawed off branch of a tree from a very tall and overgrown rosebush whilst simultaneously trying not to drop the branch in the neighbour’s garden or get scratched in the face with thorns... Quite a feat of achievement when we finally got the branch safely on to the ground!
We were pleasantly surprised at how quickly we’d managed to work (we were probably spurred on by the cold this morning!) and had soon bagged up everything that we’d cut down.
A very satisfying mission to start the year with, which will hopefully mean Mrs G and her husband can enjoy their garden as the weather warms up... brrrr!
