Wardrobe Wary
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Hackney.
- Friday, 10th of July 2020
Katie and I met for the first time on our mission to move some furniture for Mr. J to make his home more accessible and comfortable. I forgot my gloves for the mission but Katie very kindly supplied me with some as she'd brought a second pair!
Mr. J explained that he would like some furniture in his room downstairs moved around and a wardrobe and bed from upstairs moved downstairs. We started with the wardrobe upstairs and after some time navigating the wardrobe to the top of the stairs we realised that it wouldn't be safe for us to attempt to get it down them without an extra pair of hands or two. We came to the same conclusion about the bed.
Katie explained to Mr. J that, unfortunately, we thought more hands were required to complete the job and that we would speak to Goodgym about potentially having the task relisted. He understood and we did manage to successfully move the downstairs furniture for him, so we left feeling we had accomplished something, despite not being able to complete the mission!

Well done for doing what you could on this mission. Hopefully we'll be able to go back in and help Mr J again soon.
