VI running VIPs
5 GoodGymers made their way to help their local community in Islington.

The Goodgym guiding crew met up at Green Park Underground Station last night to assist with the Achilles International weekly social running group. Fantastic turn-out for both sighted guides and VI runners- Louise, a former Achilles regular, traveled from Sheffield to run a marathon later this week, and dropped in to join us. Agata also run with us, first time since the start of lockdown- lovely to see you!
New guides included former Goodgym Greenwich trainer and Youtube runner Sarah Place and her sister Cally. Fiona did a wonderful job at pacing Naqi too, especially for her first time on our Achilles loop. Gillian Dulwich also took on her first solo guiding run too, after helping to shadow one of our runners last week. She and Richard sped off down to Buckingham Palace before we even started to get sorted- top stuff!
6 VI runners and walkers made it to the session (great to see Tom and Andrew as well), with 8-9 guides on hand to help with guiding and shadowing (Thank you to Tracey and Lucy). Area Activator Simon assisted with navigation duties for the course, and Mark was lovely enough to mind our bags and to cheer encouragement to our running partners.
Wonderful evening of run guiding and fun! We will be back again next week, same time, same place.
You can find out more about this group by visiting the Achilles International Facebook page. Loads of excellent guiding resources and opportunities on offer:
