13 runners dismantle furniture for Emmaus
Wednesday = Goodgym
We welcomed 2 new runners, Julian and Julie, congratulated David on his new parkrun pb, and talked about the lovely certificate that Colchester Foodbank sent us to thank us for our work (see image in this report).
Then we made our way to the Emmaus Warehouse to dismantle some furniture. The warehouse looks very different from when we were last there, and our clothing display has been moved, but this did mean we had ample space for deconstruction.
The goal was to get all of the metal out of the wood, so that the wood can be re-used.
The group got into pairs so they could help support each other deconstructing, and Emily found a power drill to help - although it was not particularly effective compared to using the manual tools.
30 minutes later, and we had a huge pile of deconstructed furniture.
Then we made our way to North Hill for our favourite hill reps. 3 reps each, and we even got to wave to Ian's wife who was eating dinner in Ask.
Next week we'll be doing litter picking for Rivercare and you can sign up here
And don't forget to sign up for our social this Friday at the Silent Disco at Three Wise Monkeys here
