Two Tarzans tackle Serious Shrubbery, Invasive Ivy and Treacherous Thorns!
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Tower Hamlets.

Here's what Ms S of E1 had to say about the mission:
Ms S called us to let us know that the runners were 'amazing' and that she was 'very happy with all the work they did!' Well done, guys!
With Chi 'tube-ing' it in after his car breaking down, we were both raring to get started. Ms S, a 93 year old survivor of the Blitz decided to call in reinforcements to beat back the bushes overstepping their borders. With time to make up, we assessed the work we had to do and begun clearing the overgrown garden right away.
Dharmesh and Chi were 2 Tarzans in the midst of a wild jungle that was Ms S's garden she once dearly loved. Faced with overgrown shrubs with ivy running through it all, it was no small task; thorny bushes and thick branches extended far above our heads and the tall fences. With a pair of cutters and gloves for protection we started at the densest section.
Ms S expressed concern for a pipe that had been completely engulfed in her wild garden jungle. Ivy had weaved its way through most of the other plants and pots and made it near impossible to see or get through to the back wall. Ready with the cutters, Chi cut away what he could while Dharmesh played tug of war with the ivy invasion until finally, the pipe emerged! After much difficulty, slowly we were beginning to win against the overgrown garden and bring some more light and space for Ms S to enjoy. We even discovered some gnomes had been hiding beneath the bushes; they were over 50 years old!
With all of the cuttings, next was the enormous task of tidying up; our heap was stacked high full of long ivy vines, thorny stems and thick branches. In cutting these branches into small twigs, Dharmesh and Chi filled 3 huge bags!
Ms S was very grateful for us GoodGymmers helping to bring back some light into her garden. The small pleasure of being able to see the fence once again was enough to bring smiles to all of our faces.
