Three terrific runners joined me for another bank holiday run this May as we helped Brent Mencap.
With a small number of us we did a very quick intro and warm up and then we were off. With my legs weary from races I back marked and we ran together for the mile journey to Mencap.
Once there we meet Wayne who laid out everything we needed for the task, checked we were good to go and then left us to it.
The task in hand... About 250 leaflets to fold, put in envelopes, stamp with the Mencap label and then add addresses and stamps ready to post.
We got into a make shift production line and got on with the work telling stories of various administrative jobs we'd done in our careers.
After about 40 mins we were done and we passed for a photo, took the letters and said goodbye to Wayne. Next task, find a postbox! Lo and behold there was one very close by and so letters posted we headed back to base!
We stretched and then there was one last thing to do...
Congratulations Claire on doing TWO HUNDRED good deeds!
Amazing stuff, well done - we headed to the pub for a celebratory drink and Tabitha joined is with a lovely home made cake to celebrate too!
Till next week.
Cheers, Pritesh
