Twice as nice
1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Hackney.
- Wednesday, 8th of April 2020
It was a very happy coincidence that upon getting accepted for this mission I recognised the name and address - it was Ms N who I had helped at a similar time last week with some grocery shopping! As we were on good terms already I gave her a call earlier in the day to collect her shopping list as opposed to going to her house first.
She detailed all the items that would be useful over the phone, which led to me clutching a somewhat extensive shopping list and she left me with the mandate to "get whatever you can within the limit" and with that guidance I headed over to Sainsbury's in Dalston again to get whatever I could for her this time around.
The store looked as though it had been recent plundered by hordes of keen shoppers looking to stock up ahead of the long Easter weekend so I had mixed success, but with such a varied list I was still able to get a decent and useful selection of the items for her.
I dropped them back off at hers, enjoyed a chat about how we were both coping in our different ways before heading off for a most pleasant cycle back home.
