Tree-mendous achievement!
6 GoodGymers made their way to help the 24th Coventry Scouts Allotment in Coventry.

6 GoodGym runners made their way once more to the 24th Coventry Scouts allotment for some more gardening tasks to get the space ready for when the Scouts are able to meet again.
We met Scout Leader Dan at the allotment (only 2 got lost on the way this week...) and got straight to clearing the raised beds of weeds and covering them with sheeting so they are weed-free ready for planting up. Whilst weeding we met one of the residents on the allotment, a tiny frog! Meera and Vic moved the frog safely into the weeds, out of the way of the digging and weeding.
Our other task for the evening was to plant apple and fig trees which had been provided with support from a donation from the public and local garden centre, Russells. The ground was quite hard and full of rocks and roots which proved to be quite a challenge for most of us. But not Laura. The rest of us watched on with awe and cheered as she attacked the tough patches of earth with a shovel and some serious determination and made digging the deep holes for the trees look very easy.
We gave the trees a good drink and wished them good luck in their new homes before tidying up the tools and going our separate ways. Same time next week for more digging, weeding and GoodGym fun!
