Trailblazing and Bushwhacking
10 GoodGymers made their way to help the Octopus Communities in Islington.

Big crew of Goodgymmers from all different boroughs joined us at Market Road Gardens this afternoon. Frannie of Octopus Communities Network met us by the old milk float (which doubles as a storage shed!), and gave us a great array of tasks.
Steve and Alex set about bushwhacking some over grown foliage around the bottom of these wild gardens, with the intention of leaving a nature trail for visitors in September. Caz, Abi and Dom completely cleared out a patch of stubborn weeds to leave behind a patch of wildflowers. Ceiling and Caz removed masses of weeds, leaves and brambles from the central meeting area, and also thinned out the main growing patches too (it's a big job!). The Shirleys (Jackie and John) attacked a mass of overgrown greenery from the main walls of the gardens, filling up many wheel barrows of weeds and debris.
It was pretty incredible to see the space change over the course of an hour- so much tidier than before! Many hands make light work!
