Another brilliant evening run and good deed task in Bexley last night. Massive welcome to Deb Redmond who travelled down from Bristol and joined us for the evening. Well we met as usual at Base Camp Crooklog and chatted about our awesome weekends whilst everyone signed in. As 7 o'clock struck we headed out like the red arrows, weaving our way through the commuters as we made our way round to the Danson Youth Centre to help them move goal post, and remove an over grown bushy tree so to tidy up and make use of the space it had taken over. As we arrived we dived straight in, moving several large football goals. Our attention was then turned to quite a big bushy tree that had to be trimmed back. I'm not going to lie, when I saw it I thought it was a task that was going to have to be done over two Monday evenings. But no, we are the Bexley Goodgym crew, and like a well oiled machine and after a lot of sawing, clipping, snapping, bending over and stuffing into big bins we got the job done in time. We were super proud of ourselves as we swept the last of the twigs and leaves into the bins........ Now, I'm not going to lie. Cutting and breaking up trees is one hell of a workout and as we said our good byes and started heading back it had crossed my mind that everyone was pretty tired and may just want to get back. But then we run towards our famous sit off tunnel and my mind changed. As we arrived my screams reached the front runners "Everyone assume the position" that's local talk for sit offs 😂

After a lot of moaning and gritting teeth we had ourselves a new sit off champion. Well done Susan brilliant effort, especially after the hill running you had endured over the weekend 🙌🏻 With smiles and great conversation is wasn't long till we were all back at base camp Crooklog for our cool down and goodbyes. Big Hi 5 to Fiona and ** Rose** for completing their very first Goodgym run and task in style. We hope you enjoyed it.
