A fine 9 runners ran 5 km to St Mary Redcliffe Primary School to dig out weeds to enable a wildflower bed to be planted
Having been asked by two different groups for assistance today, GoodGym duly obliged by setting up two tasks with either a long run or short run option.
This run was the shorter of the two and allowed plenty of time at the task to get the job done. We had been to the school earlier in the year, when we had cleared the area of leaves and in doing so had discovered lots of weeds underneath. In order to prepare the ground for the flower bed to be planted today's task was to dig out the weeds and also clear the area of sticks which had been blown in by Storm Doris.
On arrival we met up with our host, the wonderful and ever-enthusiastic Simone, who supplied us with trowels, small forks, larger forks and spades as well as big plastic buckets to place the weeds in.
Our relatively short run gave us plenty of time to get the job done and by the time we were ready to run back to base, the bed was clear of weeds and sticks and ready for planting. Job done!
Great work by everyone today and big thanks to Chris for leading us there and back today, just about escaping the rain in the process.
Cheers
Dave

Thoroughly enjoyable, 'twas! Thanks for the report etc. too Dave. :)
... I'm guessing my gaping-mouth expression is due to having spotted a dog wandering past.
