The weather outside is FRIGHTFUL
6 GoodGymers made their way to help the parkrun - Woking junior parkrun in Woking.
- Sunday, 31st of October 2021
- Led by James McCloud
Halloween extended to this morning's weather - sideways rain and blowing a gale...truly terrifying!
Despite the elements, six Goodgymers (amongst many other volunteers) and 53 junior parkrunners still turned out. One junior parkrunner told us she liked running in all weather - now that's the spirit. There was a definite lack of parents and caregivers accompanying today - perhaps deciding to stay in the car!
But all was not as it seemed...replacing some of the volunteers and parkrunners were werewolves, skeletons, unicorns, cats, mice, witches and even Scooby-Doo.
The rain seemed to spur everyone on, as the two laps absolutely flew by which we all were relieved about so we could get back to the warm.
A few of us head to our usual breakfast haunt afterwards, well deserved after such a wet and windy mission.
We love supporting junior parkrun every week, and they could always use a few extra hands. So if you fancy helping out, add your name to the roster by emailing woking-juniors@parkrun.com.
