The Springbank Job
8 GoodGymers made their way 4.1km to help their local community in Lewisham.

We started our group run with the police approaching us and asking what was going on!! Turns out they weren't questioning the elaborate warm up I was trying to implement but asking where we were going as they'd heard of GoodGym and wanted to get involved! Thanks to everyone for seemlessly picking up the warm up whilst I was having a chat with the police.
After that excitement we made our way up the hill to Springbank Road Community Garden, Anne-Marie had said to run slowly due to traffic but in the excitement of the warm up, we got there earlier than expected but after a couple of minutes we were met by Clare and Anne-Marie. In that couple of minutes, in true GoodGym style, we did a quick litter pick of the garden.
There were a number of jobs to get done this evening, including:
- Clearing brambles
- Painting the railings
- Cutting back plants
- Trimming branches to be used as stakes for plants
- Putting a net over the bus shelter
The latter proved slightly tricky but we're not put off by a challenge and eventually got the net over the bus stop ready for the rose bush to climb up and over - the prettiest bus stop in SE London.
Next week I promise to ensure the lights are fully charged!
There's also still time to sign up to Petts Wood 10k - it would be great to see as many GoodGym t-shirts as possible.
