The one with no shopping list
1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Ealing.

For my first GG shopping mission I had a sixth sense that this was not only going to be a Good Friday but Mr J was also going to be fun person to shop for. The mission didn’t disappoint.
When I got to Mr J’s and rang him to find out what he needed. Mr J wasn’t sure at first. He didn’t have a list and asked for some help with ideas for what he could have for dinner over the bank holiday. Food shopping being a secret favourite of mine this was my kind of mission. After we’d had a chat about our favourite cakes and biscuits, strong choices from Mr J and a debate about whether doughnuts are best served warm or cold, we settled on A little shopping list of essentials plus Fig Rolls (debatable whether this is a biscuit but who gives a fig, it’s a great choice!) and a bag of doughnuts if I could find them.
3 lessons learnt along the way:
1 Social distancing is easier in smaller shops than supermarkets
2 we may be a nation of queuers but the concept is definitely lost on some and,
3 if you smile your biggest smile at people they can’t not smile back
After a few failed attempts to find the fig rolls and doughnuts I substituted with Mr J’s back up choice of custard creams and headed back to find Mr J out on his porch waiting for me.
After a quick socially distanced chat and no touch exchange of the shopping Mr J waved me off down the road in search of those elusive fig rolls.
